Highlights from Our DCU International Summer School Speaker Session

July 27th, 2026 english

At DCU International Academy, education goes far beyond the traditional classroom. We focus on giving our international students practical, hands-on experiences that build real-world skills, foster global connections and prepare them for bright futures.

To kick off our summer operations, we were thrilled to recently host a special event for our International Summer School cohort, bringing together 80 attendees – including students, faculty and staff – for a fantastic afternoon of inspiration, community and cross-cultural exchange.

Inspiring Insights: Guest Speaker Session with DCU President Professor Dáire Keogh

Following opening remarks, students had the fantastic opportunity to attend a special guest speaker session with DCU President, Professor Dáire Keogh.

During his address, Professor Keogh spoke passionately about the transformative power of international education. He emphasised what an incredible starting point and valuable opportunity studying abroad is for young people eager to travel, experience new cultures and build a truly global perspective.

Professor Keogh also celebrated the rich international diversity in the room, warmly welcoming students who joined us from all across the globe, including: Spain, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Austria, China, France, Turkey & Japan.

Connecting with Campus Leadership

Following his presentation, the floor was opened up for a lively interactive exchange. Students had the unique opportunity to chat directly with Professor Keogh, ask thoughtful questions about DCU’s global vision and share their initial impressions of life in Dublin.

It was a brilliant afternoon that perfectly captured the spirit of the DCU International Academy: bringing global perspectives together and setting our international cohorts up for an unforgettable summer ahead.
