DCU International Academy offers residential Ministay Programmes for high school groups, combining English language tuition with the experience of living and studying on a university campus in Dublin. Students participate in classes, activities and excursions while staying in convenient on-campus ensuite accommodation.
Programme Overview
Our Ministay Programmes combine General English tuition, on-campus ensuite residential accommodation, full-board meals, social activities and excursions, return airport transfers and ongoing support from our experienced team throughout the programme.
Key Information
- Students stay in DCU Residence Accommodation in twin ensuite bedrooms.
- Group leaders stay in single ensuite bedrooms.
- Students stay together in apartments, typically containing 4–5 bedrooms.
- Linen and towels are provided and rooms are cleaned once per week.
- The residence has free Wi-Fi, reception, 24-hour security and laundry facilities.
- Students attend General English tuition in group-specific classes.
- Classes are a mixture of morning and afternoon tuition.
Other Information
- Residence accommodation is available from 9 May – 10 June 2027 and 14 – 28 August 2027 only, subject to availability.
- Midweek arrival and departure is possible.
- Check-in is from 16:00 on the day of arrival and check-out is at 10:00 on the day of departure.
- Luggage storage can be arranged for groups arriving or departing outside these times.
- Students and leaders should bring a hairdryer, personal hygiene products and a Type G plug adaptor.

Accommodation
- Students stay in twin ensuite bedrooms in DCU Residence Accommodation.
- Group leaders stay in single ensuite bedrooms.
- Students stay together in apartments, typically containing 4–5 bedrooms.
- Linen and towels are provided and rooms are cleaned once per week.
- Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is at 10:00. Luggage storage can be arranged outside these times.
- The residence has free Wi-Fi, reception, 24-hour security and laundry facilities. Additional fees apply for laundry.
- Apartment utensils are not provided, as groups receive full-board meals from DCU Restaurant.
Meals
- Students and leaders receive full-board meals from DCU Restaurant.
- The first meal is dinner on the day of arrival and the final meal is breakfast on the day of departure.
- On weekdays, breakfast, a hot lunch and dinner are provided.
- At weekends, breakfast, a packed lunch and dinner are provided.
- Dietary requirements, including vegetarian and coeliac diets, can be catered for.
Airport Transfers
- Return Dublin Airport transfers are provided by private coach with DCU staff.
- Arrival and departure can be facilitated at any time of day or night.
- DCU is approximately 15 minutes from Dublin Airport.
Activities & Excursions
- Half-day activities in the Dublin area are included and led by DCU guides.
- Day trips in the Dublin area are included and led by DCU guides.
- Evening activities take place on DCU Campus and can include discos, quizzes and sports.
- Local travel for half-day activities and day trips is by public transport using a LEAP card.
What is Not Included?
The following are not included in programme fees:
- LEAP transport cards (can be purchased through DCU before arrival or locally upon arrival)
- Personal/travel insurance
- Flights
- Laundry fees
- Any additional services not specifically included in the programme proposal
