DCU Reaches Highest-Ever Position in World University Rankings

October 10th, 2025 english

Dublin City University has achieved its highest-ever position in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, placing among the Top 350 universities in the world in the 2026 rankings.

The result marks another significant rise for DCU, which was ranked among the Top 400 universities in the previous year’s rankings.

Ranked No. 1 in Ireland for Research Quality

DCU also achieved an outstanding result for Research Quality, ranking first in Ireland and 138th globally in this category.

Research Quality is one of the key areas assessed by the Times Higher Education rankings and considers the influence, strength and impact of a university’s research.

The latest results reflect DCU’s continued development as an internationally recognised university and its commitment to research with meaningful economic and societal impact.

A Globally Connected University

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings assess universities across five key areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry and international outlook.

A record 2,191 universities were included in the 2026 rankings, making DCU’s position among the world’s Top 350 a significant achievement.

For students joining DCU International Academy, studying at DCU provides the opportunity to become part of a modern, internationally connected university community in Dublin.

Whether joining us for an English language programme, pathway programme, study abroad experience or international summer programme, our students experience life and learning as part of the wider DCU campus community.
