General Information for Junior Student Groups

We have prepared the information below to help students, group leaders, and partners feel prepared, supported, and confident as they get ready for their experience in Ireland. Read on for general information about our junior programmes.

Who Can Attend

Our junior programmes are designed for closed student groups (minimum numbers apply) organised by schools, tour operators, or international partners. Individual students cannot register independently for these group programmes.

Our programmes are targeted towards students aged 13-17 years old.

Programme Overview

All group programmes include:

  • Daily English classes tailored to group needs (General English, Business English, or English for the Workplace).

  • Learning materials and certification upon completion.

  • Social and cultural activities to enrich the student experience.

  • 24-hour support from DCU staff.

Accommodation Options

We offer safe and supervised accommodation for students and group leaders:

On-Campus Residence (Selected Dates Over Summer)

  • Students stay in modern residence buildings with ensuite rooms.

  • Leaders have single ensuite rooms nearby.

  • Full board meals are provided by DCU restaurant services.

  • Campus services are all within easy walking distance.

Host Family Accommodation (Academic Year)

  • Students in groups are placed with police-checked local host families, usually in Dublin suburbs near DCU.

  • Full board meals are provided (breakfast, packed lunch and dinner).

  • DCU Residence accommodation available for leaders.

Safety & Welfare

Student safety and well-being are central to all our programmes:

  • All activities and transport are supervised by trained DCU staff.

  • A 24-hour assistance telephone number is available throughout the stay.

  • Leaders are responsible for student supervision outside scheduled DCU activities, following our welfare and safeguarding policies.
