Public Holidays and Christmas Holidays
DCU International Academy is closed for all public bank holidays. The school is also closed on Good Friday and for approximately two weeks over the Christmas period. The school calendar will be available at the school reception. Please note that students are not compensated for tuition hours lost as a result of public or bank holidays.
COURSE TIMETABLING, CLASS TIMES AND CLASSROOM LOCATION
a) The timetable for courses is set by the centralised DCU Timetabling Office, which provides classrooms for all Bachelors, Masters and Language students at Dublin City University. Class times are 09:00hrs to 13:00hrs and / or 14:00hrs to 18:00hrs for General English, Academic Year Programme (and similar courses) depending on the classroom allocation provided for DCU IA courses. DCU IA courses may take place in mornings, afternoons or as a mixture of both morning and afternoon classes.
b) Additional modules and classes (e.g. Cultural Classes, Corporate Tuition etc) may take place as part of our early evening timetable (18:00-20:00hrs) or on Saturday mornings.
c) DCU IA is part of Dublin City University. The university holds lessons and activities on a number of campuses. Most DCU IA classes and activities will take place from the DCU Glasnevin Campus. Customers should be aware that, in peak periods, DCU IA reserves the right to hold classes and activities from a nominated satellite centre. Satellite centres include: DCU St. Patrick’s Campus, DCU All Hallows Campus, DCU Trinity Comprehensive (Summer School) and St. Aidan’s School.
d) Student-classroom allocation may change from time to time in order to meet university requirements. Like undergraduate and post- graduate university students, language students may receive their tuition in more than one classroom.
e) DCU IA retains full discretion and autonomy for the timetabling of programmes.
f) Junior programmes are scheduled individually according to course specifications. The schedules are arranged over specific days/periods within a 7-day timetable rota (Monday to Sunday) to meet course needs. Tuition days and class times are determined according to resource availability and in line with group arrival and departure dates and times.
